Just another Sunday

A lot of people got bummed out because the second race of the Heartland Series in KS/MO got canceled because of too much rain.

Good for me, did I NOT plan on racing but rather working that day....

Since we had nice weather, only a bit chilly, I decided to get my road bike out and ride to work and back.
I shaved off a few more minutes of my ride, well quite a few. But I literally have to estimate the wind into my calculation, on how long it takes me to get there.

I have a 10 mile ride and on the way back, with a tail wind I made it in 38 min, but the other day on my MTB, with a horrible head wind, it took me over an hour:(

Well, this morning I will drive to work, but my goal is to start commuting more often and then finally park my car for good!

Celebratng Earthday

I know it was yesterday, but I was so busy celebrating it that I sit down today to write about it.

I was excited about Earth Day and tried to be as green as possible. How did I do.

I did not move my car. A co-worker picked me up in the morning and we car-pooled to work with my bike in her truck.
At work, we had a lot of stuff going on for the Earth Day. We actually have a Green Team and they were giving out these energy saving light bulbs and I bought three lottery ticket to win a tree.
I will find out today....

They had a local bike shop there to promote bike riding.

And I am NOT using any of the plastic cup there that are a "5" so they are not recyclable

And then I had the pleasure to ride my bike home. Yesterday was a very nice to to ride and I made it in 50 min.
Sunday I had a head wind and it had taken me 1:13 min. That ride was painful.

BUT, this is my start to commute to work and to save on my gas bill. (And get rid of some winter weight)

What did you do for Earth Day?

My pet @ work

Actually it is a couple. She is sitting on her eggs.

We have a little lake outside our buildings that we can walk around. Yesterday was so nice that used my break to go for a walk.
We also have an outside basketball court and a beach volleyball court.

One of the many reason that my employer got voted the second best company to work for in Omaha two years in a row....

BERGZIEGENKÄSE

So, we have the middle of April and it snowed yesterday. Not that it was enough to stick to the ground, but enough to make it miserable outside.

WHERE IS SPRING????

Throw in a little bit of wind, OK, a lot of wind, a.k.a. Husker-Wind and it is even more miserable.

The good news. I am working every day and have a nice warm office that keeps the elements outside...

They said on a local radio station that this is the first year in like 70 years that we haven't had a day in the 70ies yet.

Hello!! We are ready!!

I had taken pictures last year of my flowers and the tulips were blooming. Not this year. But they will. It is just a matter of time and then it will be only a few weeks and we all will complain about the heat again:)

Other than that there is not much going on.
Pepper and Mr. Whiskers are getting used to each other. She doesn't play much but we hope that she will eventually.
A few days ago they got into a fight over a chew bone...now Mr. W has a few bite marks on his nose.

under the weather

I haven't been feeling well. I have a cold and a kink in my back.
Plus I have been working overtime....

Well, all of those above are excuse/reasons that I haven't been posting anything here.

I pretty much get up in the morning, go to work, come home and go to bed....

I am hoping to feel better soon and to have more energy to get more stuff done
