My Hyper Jack Russell Terrier

I was going through some snapshots of Mr. Whiskers and I realized that 90% of them show him lounging either on the bed, couch, you name it....
Didn't I read somewhere that Jack Russell Terriers are super hyper and bouncy??
That they play and bark all the time??

I keep wondering, if the people we bought him from lied to us when they said that he is pure bred...maybe he is part sloth??
