Helingenkreuz monastery founded in 1133

I am not catholic but I am enchanted by this music. These monks, 80 of them life in a small Cistercian monastery in Austria. They got their record contract through YouTube and have the most amazing voices. I happen to hear an interview of them on NPR and thought I need to mention them.
They said they are not a boy group and they will not sing outside their monastery.....

THREE DAY WEEKEND

I finally had a three day weekend, as it should be. (I normally work four 10 hour days and then have three days off)

The weather was absolutely gorgeous. I got some work done in the yard. Even though I still haven't bought any annuals. But we put our goldfish out in a bigger pond and I got a few water plants for the pond.
The fish I are digging their new digs. I just have to find a source where I can find some cheaper water plants...

Today was the Platte River Marathon. I didn't ride this year, but Martin did and he did pretty well.
I went out later to bring out a bottler of champagne because we had a reason to CELEBRATE

ROXY and RYAN got engaged!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so happy for them.
CONGRATULATIONS
to both of you!!!!!!!

Well, that is it is for right now. Tomorrow, will start a new week, where I hope to increase my riding time to and from work.

Wednesday or Tomorrow is Friday

At least for me...since I normally work from Monday through Thursday, so Thursdays are my Friday

My Wednesday wasn't too eventful. I rode my bike home from work.
A good way to ease my way into commuting full time for the summer months.

I gotta start counting my miles since we have a team at work participating at the Activate Omaha

Bicycle Commuter Challenge

Almost forgot to mention.

I signed up for the Bicycle Commuter Challenge 2008
I did it through my company and we are keeping track of all the miles ridden amongst us in the coming months.

I am excited.

It is a 10 mile trip one way, so I should be able to log some good miles in for the team PayPal.
This is the third time Omaha does this kind of challenge, but this is the first year that I am actually able to participate.

They have a good link to Bike Commuting 101

Happy Mother's Day!

Is this finally spring now?

Last night the temperatures dropped in the 30ies again but we are having a gorgeous day today and I am NOT working:)

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there!! What a great day to be celebrated.

You are probably wondering what am up to these days and I am doing the same...

My average work-week had between 50 and 60 hours and I had to realize that there isn't much time left for other things when you work that much.
So I decided to cut back on the overtime and get some of my life back.

Last weekend was the Swanson race. I wasn't in shape to race, but I went to support Martin

He is having a great season and if he would have kept the "rubber-side" down during the race, he would have made second. The crash cost him that position, but he still ended up 4th.
Well done!!!

Pepper has become a part of our family. While cleaning, I found this cowboy-costume and she had to try it on.

Mr.Whiskers wanted in on the fun as well...

No animals were harmed while taking these pictures (maybe their egos)
