Swanson is ridable or first DIRT felt GREAT

Martin, Mr. Whiskers and I went out to ride Swanson on Saturday.

HOW MUCH FUN that was to get some dirt on my tires:)

I have to admit, I am not in the best shape yet, but it was good to see that my technical skills are still there.

Mr. Whiskers had fun as always running with us. Pepper was not allowed to come out with us, since she got spayed last Monday and still has her stitches in. But I am hoping in the futur to be able to take both of them riding.

I like the new reroutes. They are still pretty rough and need some breaking in but they will be nice, once the season will move on.

This morning we are having thunderstorms and rain. Good weather to go back to work....

Wishing you all a great week and wish you some nice dirt underneath your tires!!

Frohe Ostern!

HAPPY EASTER TO EVERYBODY!!

I hope this finds you well.

We are doing well. Spring is finally showing its first sings and I cleaned out my flowerbeds today to see, what all is "peeking" out.
Quite a few bulbs are out and some of my favorite Snowdrops are starting to bloom. They are originally from Europe (I think) and they remind me of home, because they are the first ones to bloom.
And they spread, so after a few years, you have little blankets of them in the yard.

We also went for a Easter walk. The dogs needed some exercise and we enjoyed it as well.
We try to let Pepper off the leash for a little bit. She runs far, but she does come back:)

I don't know why, but I always have Goethe's Easter walk in mind on a day like this that he wrote about in "Faust":

From Johann Wolfgang von Goethe: "Faust", translation by Edgar Alfred Bowring, 1853

From the ice they are freed, the stream and brook,
By the Spring's enlivening, lovely look;
The valley's green with joys of hope;
The Winter old and weak ascends
Back to the rugged mountain slope.

From there, as he flees, he downward sends
An impotent shower of icy hail
Streaking over the verdant vale.
Ah! but the Sun will suffer no white,

Growth and formation stir everywhere,
'Twould fain with colours make all things bright,

Though in the landscape are no blossoms fair.
Instead it takes gay-decked humanity.

Now turn around and from this height,
Looking backward, townward see.

Forth from the cave-like, gloomy gate
Crowds a motley and swarming array.

Everyone suns himself gladly today.
The Risen Lord they celebrate,

For they themselves have now arisen
From lowly houses' mustiness,
From handicraft's and factory's prison,
From the roof and gables that oppress,

From the bystreets' crushing narrowness,
From the churches' venerable night,
They are all brought out into light.
See, only see, how quickly the masses
Scatter through gardens and fields remote;
How down and across the river passes
So many a merry pleasure-boat.

And over-laden, almost sinking,
The last full wherry moves away.
From yonder hill's far pathways blinking,
Flash to us colours of garments gay.

Hark! Sounds of village joy arise;
Here is the people's paradise,

Contented, great and small shout joyfully:
"Here I am Man, here dare it to be!"

Spring Cleaning Part I

Well, like I said we have the first signs of spring here in Nebraska.

The snow is melting, the Robins are back and we started our Spring-Deep-Cleaning.

Martin had it all planned out, so we started with the guest bed room and bath room and took every thing out of it and could be moved.
Martin cleaned, I sorted and purged and then we put the rest back.
Sounds easy, only that while I was renovating my room, I put a lot of stuff in the guest bed room and now it is piled back n my room....will I ever get it sorted out????

The guest bath room has the biggest closet space, and we (I) put everything in there that needed to be out of sight.
Well, Saturday, it was all sitting in the hall way: IN SIGHT

BUT, I did go through all of it and we through a lot of it away and have now a clean bath room

Saturday we did the same to the master bath and it is so nice to have everything organized in there.

Only leaves us, we 2/3 of the house....piece of cake.....

It is official!

We made the decision and poor Pepper will be stuck with us and Mr. Whiskers!!!

After buying two Jack Russell Terrier puppies and had them turn out to be half way normal dogs:)
I decided, I owe it to one of those pound dogs to have a better life and who knows my dogs and Martin and myself, knows, that Ms Pepper pretty much won the Jackpot....

I don't know how it is in your neck of the woods, but we have truly the first signs of spring....YEAH!!!!
The Robins are back. Some of my bulbs are poking out. You can go outside without getting your limbs frozen of, .....

Ahhhhh, it feels great, or should I say, LOOKS great, because, I have to spend most of my time inside working....BUT tomorrow is Friday=Freeday and I will enjoy the weather (I am ignoring the weather forecast that calls for rain and possible snow.....)

A scent of PEPPER is in the air

Is it black Pepper?

Is it bell Pepper?

Is it Peppermint?

No, it is Miss Pepper, a little Jack Russell Terrier girl, that we have visiting this week to see if she would get along with Mr. Whiksers.

So far it looks pretty good:)

She comes from the local Jack Russell Terrier Rescue, where we picked her up on Saturday.

She is about a year old and weight 14lbs. She is very friendly and cuddly but still a little shy towards Mr. Whiskers.
And boy, is she FAST. We thought Mr. W is fast, but she might be even faster. Well, she weights 1/2 of his weight. (Don't tell him, but he has gotten a little chubby. We need to put him on a doggy-diet...)

Other than that things are same old, same old.

Oh NO, they are NOT. We had 60F yesterday and I went for a walk on my break at work!!!!!
We have a little lake outside the building they put a path around. That sun felt GOOD:)

And some of my bulbs are peeking out......SPRING IS COMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A sign of life!

I have been busy and deprived of my beloved laptop (not the fuzzy one) , so my urge so sit on a desk in front of a computer after a 10 hour shift at work is naturally slim.
With my laptop back. I can snuggle up on the couch and the fuzzy laptop in my lap and catch up.

Life is good. Well for the most part. It is still COLD. But some of the migrating birds are coming back and I am having hope that Spring is just a matter of a few days....

My sister in law got through her cancer surgery OK. They caught it in T1 NO. But she still has to got through chemo and radiation.

My job is going great. It just takes a lot of time and I am still working on getting my private life back in balance to get all the things done that I want to do. Any good tips????

Well, I gotta run for now. But I promise to be better and write more
