A dog's life...from rescue dog to legwarmer

Mr.D seems very comfy:-)

To all that don't know him. This is Dodger or Mr. D as we call him.

He is a rescue dog from the Jack Russell Terrier Rescue in Omaha

We got Mr.D when he was 11 years old. He was given up twice before and we just recently found out that he has bee-bee shots in his chest...

Dodger will turn 14 on the first of July and a few months ago we thought we would loose him to a liver desease. He is better now, but he is getting older.

Dodger is very food-protective and we had several fights in the house where he attacked Mr. Whiskers...not good, but we have figured out what triggers him and have it under control.

Other than that he is the most wonderful and beautiful dog (yes, I am subjective:). Very loyal and loving and we hope that he is given a few more years before he goes to doggy heaven.

Mr. Whiskers and Pepper found a new friend: Dodger

The dream team has a new member: Dodger

Well, for right now he is here on "probation". He comes from the Jack Russell Terrier Rescue
We adopted Pepper from there and now Dodger is visiting.
He is an 11 year old male and very well behaved. He has been at the Rescue for over 6 months. We don't know why, he is such a good dog and deserves a good home...

Well, we might just have to keep him:)

My Good Deed for the Day

I found out that there is an animal shelter on 84th Street that doesn't kill their animal. It's called Town & Country Humane Society. They live of donations and volunteers and I went by there to sign up for some work.
To my surprise is it also the place, where the Jack Russell Terrier Rescue boards their dogs.
You can imagine my eyes and thoughts, when I walked in there to see 15+ JRT in kennels...

I signed up for some volunteer work and I an getting in touch with the lady who runs the JRT rescue to see what I can do to help. Martin doesn't want another one:(
Maybe I can help at least to socialize those doggies, so they will have an easier time to find a home...

I gotta do something to help them!!!!
